Delicious and Easy Healthy Family Dinner!

You want to eat healthier but you and your family also want to continue to have taco Tuesday's. You can have the best of both worlds with this delicious taco meal filled with nutrient dense whole foods your family will love! I want to break down the healthier swaps I use for traditional taco ingredients. Your family and friends will love them, and your body will appreciate all the nutrients too!

Healthier swaps for normal taco ingredients:
  • White flour tortillas - Organic corn tortillas or Siete grain free tortillas
  • Cheese & sour cream - avocado spread (recipe below)
  • Low quality meat - organic ground turkey and organic black beans
Low quality dairy, gluten, and animal protein are some of the main things that cause health and digestive issues in normal taco recipes. BUT they have delicious simple swaps like I listed above!

Avocado Spread Recipe:

I spread this on my tortilla before adding the rest of the ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 3 avocados
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 organic tomato
  • 1/2 squeezed lime
  • Organic Garlic Salt (as much or as little as your taste buds enjoy!)

Instructions:

  1. Smash the avocados in a mixing bowl or container.
  2. Chop up onion and tomato into small chunks and add into the avocados then mix until evenly combined.
  3. Squeeze the lime and add as much or as little garlic salt as you want.

Taco Meat Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of organic ground turkey
  • 1 can of organic black beans
  • 1/2 onion
  • Taco seasoning (you can find great organic taco seasonings at your local stores)
  • 1/2 tbsp cooking oil (olive, avocado, or coconut)

Instructions:

  1. Put a pan on medium heat with 1/2 tbsp oil on your choice.
  2. Chop up onion and add that to the pan and let cook for a couple of minutes.
  3. Add the package of turkey, break the turkey up into small chunks, and cook thoroughly.
  4. When the turkey is cooked, strain the can of beans, add to the turkey, and mix together.
  5. Add on top of the tortilla and on top of avocado spread!
