Organic Fruit Salad with Dairy Free Fruit Dip

I LOVE Fruit!!!

There is nothing better than a refreshing fruit salad on a summer day! Right now, I am 8 months pregnant and ALL I am craving is fruit! I completely understand that some people have what I call fruit fear. I used to too.

We have been told…

“Fruit is too much sugar.”

“Fruit will make you fat.”

It’s just not true. By not having fruit in our nutrition means we are missing out on so many key vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and nutrients that God put in them! God says in Genesis 1:29 says “See, I give you every seed-bearing plant that is upon all the earth, and every tree that has seed-bearing fruit; they shall be your food.” Fruit is to nourish us and provide us with fuel!

Here are 5 other reasons to add fruit into your nutrition!

  1. They contain fiber to help improve your gut health.
  2. Fruit is filled with antioxidants which protect our cells from free radicals and GREAT for your skin!
  3. Because fruit contains a lot of water, it helps to keep you hydrated. A hydrated body helps to make all the systems of the body work properly!
  4. Our body runs off glucose. Fruit provides your body with natural glucose that gives you lots of energy!
  5. Fruit contains enzymes that help your digestion work smoothly!

Now that you know all the goodness about fruit, enjoy all the vitamins your body will get with this fruit salad! I am personally making this for a friend's birthday so everyone can enjoy it! Here is what you will need.

Fruit Salad Ingredients:

  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Grapes
  • Watermelon
  • Cantaloupe
  • Pineapple
  • Kiwi
  • Lemon

I picked fruit that wouldn’t go bad in a couple of days, that’s why I decided to leave fruit such as bananas and apples out of it.

Dairy Free Fruit Dip

  • 2 cans of Full Fat canned coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp Raw organic honey
  • Sprinkle of Cinnamon
  • 1 - 2 tbsp Coconut sugar
  • Sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Chop up all the fruit into small chunks. Put into a large bowl and squeeze a lemon on top of all of it. I put this in the fridge for 2 days before serving so all the fruit flavors would mix together.
  2. To make the dip, take out the solid parts of the canned coconut milk and put it in a mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer to mix the solid coconut until smooth.
  3. Add the honey, cinnamon, and sea salt to the coconut.
  4. Mix again with the hand mixer to make sure everything is mixed evenly.
  5. Serve cold with your fruit salad!
