1. Eat More Fruit!

A lot of people are afraid to eat fruit because they have been told that it has too much sugar and will make you gain weight, but that is far from the truth. Yes fruits have sugar in them but it is natural sugar and they also have antioxidants, immune boosting properties, vitamins, and minerals your body needs to THRIVE! I neglected fruits for a long time and this is when my health was at its worst. Adding fruits back into my nutrition is the one major things that helped me heal from weight gain, inflammation, digestive issues, bloating, eczema and acne.

Right now we can stock up on frozen fruit to make delicious smoothies! We can also get fresh ones as the shelves are stocked with them right now and freeze them ourselves. Another great way to add fruits in is to make a fruit salad out of 3-4 fruits that you love. Cut them up, keep them in a large bowl in the fridge and have a cup or so as a snack a few times through out the day.

2. Eat More Vegetables!

As Americans we focus so heavily on protein. This is causing a lot of major health issues. When we shift our focus to plants (fruits, vegetables, herbs, etc.) our bodies have a chance to restore themselves and regain it's health back! Leafy greens being one of the best vegetables to support the immune system, aid in weight loss, and help restore the gut!
Making soup with fresh vegetables and vegetable broth and freezing it can help you stock up on some healthy food while you are stuck in the house for a while. This is also a great healthy meal to prep.

3. Add Herbs and Spices!

This can be in the form of tea, fresh herbs, or herb extracts in dropper form. Teas are also easy to stock up on right now. Here are some specific herbs that are geared towards supporting your immune system.
  • Lemon balm
  • Elder flower or elder berry
  • Turmeric
  • Ginger
  • Echinacea

4. Make Sure You Get Enough Rest!

Right now we are advised to stay at home, slow down, and rest. This isn't such a bad thing! Our bodies and minds need to be in rest & relaxation mode to be able to heal properly. Now is the time to slow down, curl up with a good book and comfy blanket, warm herbal tea in hand, and just relax. This will do amazing things for your body!

5. Move Your Body!

Working out doesn't always have to be an intense insane sweaty can't breathe workout. Move your body in a way that feels amazing to you. During this time I am going to do yoga, stretch, use light weights for resistance training, and walk with my husband and dog. Whatever type of movement brings you joy, do it and be consistent with it!

6. Incorporate Immune Supporting Supplements!

Here are great immune boosting supplements and also supplements I incorporate daily...

7. Get Out and Enjoy Nature!

Being in nature has proven to reduce stress. Stress is a major cause of a suppressed immune system so doing what we can to reduce stress in crucial right now!

8. Do More of the Things that Bring You Joy!

This will also reduce stress and overwhelm which again is something we need to do now more than ever! Write down 5 things that you don't do often that bring you joy and go do them during this time of slowing down! I am personally going to do more yoga, coloring, reading, journaling, and cooking!

9. Practice Gratefulness and Positivity!

There is a lot of fear, anxiety, and worry of the unknown happening at this time. But we have two choices - to stay in that constant stress and fear or focus on the good. Focusing on the fear only grows the fear which then suppresses your immune system even more. The power of gratefulness and positivity has been shown to improve your immune system and heal the body faster. (if you haven't yet, take time to watch the documentary HEAL). Every morning and before bed write down 5 things you are grateful for. It's a game changer!

10. Join an Uplifting Positive Community!

To continue to lower our stress we need community, we need to know we are not alone in this. We need a break from all the negativity and so badly need a group of women who are wanting to better their health and mindset during this time. My friend and co-coach Brionna Morse and I have created that for you! Head over to Facebook, and join our RESTORE Community!
Just click the link above and ask to join. All of these are things I do and add to my clients' plans, not just during a virus break out but all the time. It is always beneficial to support your immune system because we are up against viruses and bacteria constantly. During this time of slowing down we get to create these habits!
We are in this together. I want you to know my email and social media inboxes are always open. I am here to support you girl! Can't wait to see you in the RESTORE Facebook group!
Lots of love!
