Delicious & Healthy Holiday Sides!

Holiday dinners are usually filled with tons of DAIRY, GLUTEN, and other preservatives. This probably leaves you feeling super bloated, tired, and gassy. Which is no fun on the holidays when you are truly trying to enjoy yourself and your loved ones.
What if I told you that you can enjoy all of your favorite side dishes, just without the dairy and gluten so you can feel so much better! You can, and here are 2 of my favorite healthy holiday sides dishes for Thanksgiving and Christmas that are completely diary free and gluten free!

The main swaps I made to keep these recipes dairy free were...
  • Miyokos vegan butter instead of regular butter
  • Coconut milk instead of regular milk
I also made a swap for soy sauce using coconut aminos. It's that simple! And no one will be able to tell that these are healthier versions of the original recipes! Oh, these healthy holiday side dishes are also so simple the make, which makes life a lot easier during the holidays!

Dairy Free Mashed Sweet Potatoes!

  • 2 large white or orange sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 package of Miyokos butter
  • 1/3 cup organic coconut milk
  • 1 tsp of chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp of minced garlic
  • Pink Himalayan Sea Salt (as little or as much as you would like!)

  1. Chop sweet potatoes into small chunks.
  2. Fill large pot with water a little more than half way and bring to boil. Add the sweet potato chunks and heat until soft.
  3. Drain the water and leave potatoes in the pot.
  4. Add the Miyokos butter and mix with a hand mixer.
  5. Add the coconut milk, garlic, sea sat, and fresh parsley and mix until a consistency of mashed potatoes you like!

Honey Butter Glazed Carrots

  • 1 packages of carrots
  • 1/2 package of Miyokos butter
  • 1 tsp of coconut aminos
  • 1/2 tbsp organic honey
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp of dried thyme

  1. Pre heat over to 425 degrees.
  2. Chop carrots into small thin pieces.
  3. Melt 1/2 the package of Miyokos butter in a pan on low.
  4. Once melted, remove from heat then add the honey, minced garlic, and coconut aminos.
  5. Place carrots on a sheet pan. Pour the butter mixture on the carrots and mix until carrots are fully covered.
  6. Cook for 25 minutes. Then broil on high for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Put in a serving dish and sprinkle thyme on top of the carrots. Enjoy!
