Healthy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe!

One of my favorite memories as a child was cooking and baking with my grandma. I always loved her banana nut bread in particular.
The taste, the smells, the memories with her, everything about it. I know her recipe was filled with butter, sugar, and gluten which would not sit well with body right now, so I wanted to make a healthier version of one of my favorite desserts!
Some of those unhealthy ingredients are known to cause health issues, so I swapped them out for healthier ingredients that actually benefit your mind and body!
Here is my take on healthy banana nut bread! My version also has chocolate chips and is gluten free dairy free just like all of my recipes.

  • 2 1/2 bananas
  • 1/3 cup almond butter
  • 1/3 cup of coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 cups oat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1 dairy free chocolate bar


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray the pan with coconut spray or use parchment paper.
  2. Mash bananas in a large bowl.
  3. Stir in the almond butter and coconut oil.
  4. Next add the dry ingredients and mix everything together.
  5. Chop the chocolate bar into chunks and add to the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the bread pan and add toppings (I sliced half a banana and put the slices on top of the batter)
  7. Bake for 30 minutes and let cool before eating.
