So you have started adding more healthy foods to your diet and you've been working out more consistently but you still feel stuck!
 
You can't seem to lose weight, you're still low on energy, and just not making any progress towards your goals! Well today we will talk about 7 things you need to STOP doing if you want to get out of the rut you're in and finally lose the weight.
 
Because even though you have been adding some healthy habits, these unhealthy habits just might be holding you back. Then you get frustrated and stop the new healthy habits because you feel like nothing is working for you.
 
So let's jump right in...

1. Not Being Prepared!

I had to quit being lazy and prepare for busy days because they were going to happen whether I liked it or not.
 
How often are you doing good with eating healthy and all of a sudden you have a busy week that you weren't ready for and your lunch ends up being a burger and fries or pizza 3 days out of the week?
 
I've been there for sure!
 
It all comes down to the fact that you were not prepared. You didn't have healthy meals ready to go.
 
I know meal prepping isn't always fun but it's necessary!

2. Keeping Unhealthy Food in the House!

Here's the bottom line...if there's unhealthy food in the house and easily accessible, you're most likely going to eat it! And then feel bad about it.
 
I'm not going to tell you to never snack on anything ever again because that's just not realistic. But here's what I suggest...
 
When you are going to indulge in some treats that you know you shouldn't be eating all the time, only buy a serving so you can eat it and not have any left over lurking in the pantry every time you open the door.
 
So if you just have to have a some cookies, go get a COUPLE and eat them. Don't buy a whole box and let them sit around the house because you're going to eat them all slowly but surely!

3. Emotional Eating!

This one is tough because we all know that when we have a rough day the first thing we want to do is go home and stuff our face with ice cream!
 
Emotional eating is something that you will have to learn to control. Once I was able to get a hold on this, I made some major progress. And that's the same pattern I see with my coaching clients as well.
 
It comes down to how you deal with the emotions that you are feeling. YOU have to choose to do the journal or mindset practices when you are having a bad day instead of trying to eat the pain away.
 
Like I always say, my clients that see the best results are the ones who take the mindset practices that I give them seriously and consistently!

4. Binge Eating!

Binge eating is very common with those who are following a restrictive diet program! When I was doing body building competitions, I binge ate like it was my job!
 
I would be on such an extreme diet all the time that any time I was "allowed" to have a cheat meal I ate until I made myself sick! THIS IS NOT HEALTHY and puts so much stress on our bodies!
 
Sure I was in good shape but I did not start seeing improvements in my actual health until I put an end to the binge eating!

5. Having a Victim Mentality!

I used to complain constantly about how I looked and felt, but then I wasn't doing anything about it. I felt sorry for myself.
 
Constant thoughts that came up in my head - "Why can't I look like her." "How come she can eat anything she wants and has the perfect body and perfect skin."
 
This horrible "why me" mindset will keep you stuck.
 
I love you, and this is why I'm telling you this. Stop complaining and do something about it sister! I wouldn't tell you that if I didn't say the exact same thing to myself.
 
The poor victim mindset leads me right into my next point.

6. Comparing Yourself to Others!

I compared myself to others constantly. I would cry myself to sleep at night feeling like I was less of a person because I didn't look like these Instagram fitness models. It made me hate my body which stopped me from reaching my goals.
 
Your thoughts will influence your actions. I started to think "why is it even worth eating healthy and working out to my fullest potential because I'm never going to look like her." I stopped caring about my own health and it went down hill fast.
 
I couldn't live like this anymore. The first thing I did to help me stop comparing myself to other fitness models was to unfollow them. Instead I followed uplifting people that taught me things I wanted to learn.
 
I started reading self help books, starting saying affirmations about loving my body, and dug into God's word about how He feels about me. And after a little consistent mindset work I started loving my body and having so much respect for it which made me want to live this amazing healthy lifestyle I do now.

7. Waiting Too Long to Get Help!

Please don't keep spinning your wheels and wasting your value time because you are afraid or too prideful to ask for help with your weight loss journey! This is one of the worst things you can do because the longer you wait the more frustrated you will get as you bounce from one restrictive diet to the next.
 
Believe me, I've been there. I used to think I didn't need help and could figure it all out on my own. But the truth was I was spending so much time, energy, and money on things that weren't helping me reach my goals because I just didn't know what the hell I was doing.
