5 Steps to Holistic Health for Beginners!

Let's be real...diets don't work!

Maybe you'll see some temporary results for but have they ever worked for you long term?
 
You need something different. Not something that gets you results for a month but something that changes your life! Insert holistic health!
 
Holistic health has been proven time and time again to get people results for the long haul. Today I am going to share with you 5 steps to take to create a holistic healthy lifestyle even if you are a complete beginner! These were the steps I took to get me out of the dieting culture and into a beautiful holistic healthy lifestyle that got me results that lasted! This absolutely changed my life and I live be these things every day!

Step 1: Know your WHY

You have to know the reason why you want to be living a healthy lifestyle. For me, I knew I wanted to be an energetic, strong, healthy wife for my husband. Being a mother one day was important for me, I wanted to prepare my body for growing a baby and be a healthy role model for my future children. I wanted so badly to heal my health issues so I can coach other women to thriving health as well. All of this was important to me and kept me going strong with living my healthy lifestyle.
 
ACTION STEP: In major detail, write down your WHY! It doesn't have to be structured or fancy just start writing.

Step 2: Hydration

It takes more than just water to hydrate your body! When my health was at it's worst, I was drinking about a gallon of water a day. Test results showed I was STILL dehydrated. Yes I was drinking water but what was missing from my nutrition was fresh fruits and vegetables! Our body also needs foods that contain water to help hydrate it! Drink enough water and eat fresh vegetables and fruit to help hydrate your body even more. Hydration is extremely important for reaching weight loss goals, better digestion, and better skin!
 
ACTION STEP: Add a couple of your favorite fruits into your nutrition! Fruit is delicious and a great snack throughout the day.

Step 3: Reduce toxins and chemicals in your home

This is one of the most important steps for living a healthy holistic lifestyle! It doesn't have to be as daunting as it looks. I personally started with essential oils. I got this starter kit of oils from Young Living that helped me get rid of toxic candles, toxic cleaners, and helped me to make DIY non toxic products for my home! Having this starter kit of essential oils made getting rid of the harmful toxins and chemicals in my home so much easier!
 
ACTION STEP: Look at the products around your home, change one thing at a time to make your home less toxic!

Step 4: Eat more whole foods and less processed foods

Whole foods are filled with the vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants our bodies need to thrive! Processed foods are lacking in nutrition and are filled with chemicals and preservatives that are harmful to our health. Our bodies are created to digest and thrive off of real whole foods and not man made foods. I know this can seem hard, but it is actually super simple and delicious!
 
ACTION STEP: Start by having one meal a day that is mainly made out of whole foods! Fruits, veggies, high quality meats, etc.

Step 5: Stress reduction through faith & nutrition

Stress directly effects your hormones, immune system, digestive system which then effects your weight, energy, skin, and digestion. I knew stress was a big factor in my health issues. I found stress reduction through specific herbs, foods, and stress reduction practices. It was my faith in the Lord that ultimately took my stress levels down. For me, it was all about eating less processed foods which then put less stress on my body, adding in herbs that help my bodies adapt to stress, and diving into God's word to really find peace and rest.
 
ACTION STEP: What truly makes you less stressed? Go and do that!
