Do you feel like there's nothing you can do about it?
I know…asking if you’re stressed is like asking if you love dogs, the answer is pretty much YES for everyone.
Life is so demanding and fast paced that it literally feels impossible not to be stressed.
If you ever feel overwhelmed by all of this, I want you to know that you’re not alone! A couple years ago, stress completely took over my life...
I was so insecure about how I looked because I was dealing with adult acne (especially leading up to my wedding) so the stress would build up just by having to leave the house because I didn't want anyone to look at me.
I was planning a wedding and all my brides out there…you know how stressful this is! Picking the perfect dress, fitting into that dress, making sure everything is what you've always dreamt of, and staying on budget.
Running a business. Shout out to all you entrepreneurs and hard working women, you know the stress is so REALLL. So much to do, so many ideas on how to help people, so little time!
Building a house, living with the in-laws while it was being built, and moving.
Getting married, building a house, and growing my business was one of the best and most exciting times of my life but it was definitely stressful!
After going through all of this, I learned how taxing stress can be on your mind and body and also that there are right and wrong ways to deal with that stress!
High stress levels can cause so many different problems such as...
Thankfully, I have learned to deal with stress is a healthier way and you can do the same!
There’s no secret to make stress completely disappear…it’s just part of life. But what you can do is be proactive about it and have certain things set in place so that the stress doesn't start to negatively impact your health.
If you love coffee, #5 is just for you ;)
You've heard that laughing is the best medicine right? Well, it's true. What makes you laugh? For my husband and I, it's the show “Ridiculousness”. Or watching one of our favorite funny movies. Or watching our little nieces and nephews run around like crazy people!
Have these movies, shows, or thing you know that can make you laugh and use them to your advantage! Let them be a temporary escape from the things that cause the most stress.
It's no surprise that there are millions of toxins around you every day. These toxins can have a negative affect on many parts of your body. Especially your brain. Brain fog, forgetfulness, and problems concentrating are possible side effects from all these toxins.
Paula Owens says it best...
"The obesity epidemic, the rise in autism, autoimmune disease, neurological disorders, cancer, behavioral problems, and mental health disorders. What's to blame? It's not our genes. Our food, water, and air are being systematically poisoned. TOXIC CHEMICALS are a huge contributor!"
Here are a couple things you can try to reduce the toxin levels in your life. Use glass containers instead of plastic. I use the Glasslock brand. Use non toxic cleaning products like Honest brand. Switch to a natural deoderant like Schmidts.
Maybe you have heard to develop healthier eating habits to reduce stress. While that is true, there are specific foods you should be eating and here’s what research from the Medical Medium says…
"An important fact to know as you begin to heal is that your brain, central nervous system and nerves are fueled by glucose and mineral salts. That means your brain and nervous system run on naturally salty vegetables and the glucose from fruits!"
He also suggests to help your brain and stress out by adding wild blueberries, spinach, bananas, raspberries, mangoes, dates, apples, and potatoes.
I personally make a smoothie with bananas, spinach, dates, wild blueberries, and raspberries on a daily basis to help strengthen my nervous system to help with stress/anxiety/depression.
Yes this sounds silly but it's one of those things that are so incredibly helpful and simple but we don't do it. So here is your reminder!
When you wake up in the morning take 3 deep breathes. Set a reminder on your phone to do this 2 more times during the day. Then take 3 more deep breathes before bed.
You will be thanking me because as simple as this is, it feels good and IT WORKS!
I love my coffee but I know regular coffee with around 120mg of caffeine can cause stress on the adrenal glands! I found the best of both worlds...coffee with less caffeine and adaptogens that help with stress management!
Adaptogens are basically plant extracts that helps your body resist damaging effects of stress!
I drink it every morning after two glasses of lemon water to be proactive about my stress! You can check it out here...Adaptogen Hack Stress Coffee
