It never fails...every year at this time you feel that scratch in your throat and stuffiness in your nose and you know that dreaded winter cold is right around the corner!
Normally you'd be calling the doctor for them to tell you that you have to wait a week to get in, come sit in the waiting room for a few hours full of other sick people coughing and sneezing all over you, then take antibiotics or steroids that might get rid of the sickness but cause 15 other problems in your body!
Even if you choose not to go to the doctor you can expect to feel like total crap for at least 2 weeks!
Ever think of stopping that pesky cold in its tracks right at the start, without feeling horrible or dealing with the hassle of going to the doctor's office and taking those medications that come with a list a side effects that are a mile long?!

Don't get me wrong, we do need medications and doctors for many things in life. But when it comes to something like a common cold, I always encourage trying the natural remedies first.
Fortunately with colds, the natural way can work quickly in most cases if you nip it in the butt right away! I did this myself recently.
I started feeling sick Sunday night with a score throat, swollen lymph nodes, runny nose, congestion, and body aches...all the typical cold and flu symptoms.
Monday I felt a little bit crappy but listened to my body and got lots of sleep. By Tuesday morning I was already feeling 90% better! If I wouldn't have attacked that cold and gave my body all the vitamins and nutrients it needed to fight off the bad guys, I may have been out of commission for a couple of weeks.
I was able to avoid this and I want to share exactly what I did so you are prepared next time! If, or should I say when, you feel a cold coming on this winter, use these 10 natural remedies to start feeling better over night!

10 Natural Cold Remedies to Help You Feel Better FAST!

1. Hot lemon water with raw organic honey!

Do this at least once in the morning and once before bed but I suggest doing it as much as you possibly can. It tastes amazing so why not, right.
Hot water makes your throat feel better, lemon gives you a blast of vitamin C, and honey is great for soothing your throat. It also has tons of antioxidants, its antibacterial, and anti-fungal.

2. Organic Elderberry Syrup!

This will give your immune system the power it needs to kick those cold germs right out of ya! This has also been used for ages and it's the first time I've tried it for a cold and I'm telling you it worked wonders!
They call this the "Father of medicine" and say it should be in your fridge at all times to help when your immune system needs some extra help.
My favorite is from Gaia!

3. Cat's Claw Tea!

This is a great tea to drink everyday to build you a healthy and strong immune system! When you're feeling a little under the weather just drink a little extra Cat's Claw. You don't have to tell me twice to drink more tea...I love it all!

4. Lemon Balm Tea!

So this is great for two things! One, it's loaded with antioxidants. Two, it helps with stress and anxiety.
If your anything like me, I get extra stressed out when I'm sick. A girls got tons of work to do! So this helps with that stress and anxiety so you can get back to feeling 100!

5. Goldenseal!

This is a magical herbal antibiotic that also boosts your immune system! It has anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties! Take this until symptoms are gone or take for a 2 weeks on two weeks off cycle, the Medical Medium says.

6. Fruit, Fruit, and More Fruit!

Eating fruits like bananas, apples, oranges, and drinking lemon and lime water will flood your body with so many virus or bacteria killing vitamins and minerals it needs!
You can't forget about the basics when you're feeling run down. Your body is craving nutrients you can find in those tasty fruits.

This is a homemade soup that I promise you will absolutely LOVE! It's not your typical processed sodium filled canned soup from the store. 8. Tons of Liquids!

We need lots of LIQUIDS when we are sick. Things like water, lemon water, tea and coconut water. You need liquids and need to be hydrated for your body to work properly, especially when trying to fight off a cold, flu, or other bug.

9. Vitamin C!

Everybody knows that vitamin C is important during cold season so don't leave this guy out. I suggest a high quality Vitamin C supplement to make sure the potency and standards are up to par.
I take Solgar Ester-C all the time but up the amount when I'm starting to feel sick.

10. Zinc!

Zinc is known to help colds and fight infection because it is the immune system's best friend. Zinc also helps your digestive system and skin!
I always suggest Liquid Ionic Zinc to my clients!
Honestly, I take most of these on a daily basis to keep my immune system strong so that when I do feel a cold coming, there's a very slim chance that it will be around very long!
I understand that you may not go to the extreme and do all 10 of these things. Of course I suggest doing as many as you can to give yourself the best chance of not getting sick. But even if you do 2 or 3 of them that's better than 0! You can find all of these products on Amazon and they are very affordable!
And as a bonus tip, do your best to reduce stress and get as much sleep as you can during these times! This is when your body needs it most and it will definitely speed up the recovery process.
